Battery recycling awareness campaign Hazardous disposal of household batteries has been a major issue in the Middle East due to lack of regulating policies and awareness from the civil society. Improper disposal of hazardous products affects the ecosystem and contaminates soil and water supplies.

Therefore, the Beeatoona project aims at raising awareness among upper primary and intermediate school students and their families on the dangers and health risks associated with hazardous disposal of household batteries.

The main objectives of this project are:

• Raising awareness on environmental health risks associated with disposal of batteries
• Engaging students in sorting and collecting batteries
